Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis for patients
• Collect and document patient medical histories and oral health information
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Assist the dentist during procedures and ensure a smooth workflow
• Maintain sterilization standards and keep treatment rooms organized

Qualifications

• Current Virginia Dental Hygienist license
• Associate degree in Dental Hygiene or equivalent
• Excellent communication and patient‑care skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with dental charting software
• Understanding of infection control protocols
• Knowledge of periodontal disease prevention
• Skill in using ultrasonic scalers and polishing equipment
