Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility
- Provide compassionate hands-on care while preserving dignity and independence
- Monitor residents’ conditions and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
- Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively during shift handoffs
- Work as part of the care team to create a warm, home-like environment
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Pennsylvania) — required
- Comfortable with direct resident care and safe lifting/transfers
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations (as required by facility)
- Strong communication skills and a warm, patient-centered approach
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred, new CNAs encouraged to apply
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program and current certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care fundamentals and activities of daily living
- Basic vital signs measurement and observation reporting
- Infection control and proper PPE use
- Comfortable with documentation and clear shift-to-shift communication
- Teamwork mindset and the ability to follow care plans
