Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Take and accurately record vital signs and report changes in patient condition
- Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility to promote comfort and prevent injury
- Document care provided in a clear, timely manner and communicate effectively with the care team
- Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment for patients
- Collaborate with nurses and unit staff to deliver patient-centered care and contribute to positive outcomes
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (Pennsylvania) or completion of an approved CNA program
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings (TB, immunizations)
- Strong communication skills, empathy, and a patient-first attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and able to perform physical aspects of the role (standing, walking, assisting patients)
Education
- High school diploma or GED; completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and comfort measures
- Vital signs measurement and documentation
- Infection prevention and safe handling techniques
- Familiarity with electronic charting or ability to learn EMR documentation
- Teamwork, time management, and clear communication with patients and clinical staff
