Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-focused direct care to residents with dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding and mobility
• Perform safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
• Take and record vital signs, monitor resident condition, and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident charting system
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support individualized care plans
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies to maintain a safe environment
• Support resident quality of life through meaningful interactions and emotional support

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (T-CNA accepted)
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program
• State authorization or ability to obtain necessary WV credentials for the assignment
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but enthusiastic new CNAs welcome
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to work 12-hour night shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and resident mobility
• Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
• Accurate documentation and charting habits
• Infection prevention and safety best practices
• Strong communication and teamwork with nursing staff and families
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident care tasks
