Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide clinical oversight and leadership for the Occupational Therapy department, ensuring high-quality patient care
- Evaluate and treat patients (approximately 80% clinical caseload) with evidence-based OT interventions
- Supervise and mentor COTAs and Rehabilitation Technicians to build team competency and confidence
- Develop, review, and maintain OT policies and procedures covering scope of care, evaluation/treatment standards, discharge planning, and documentation
- Coordinate and lead clinical education, competency assessments, and continuing professional development
- Ensure regulatory compliance with state practice acts, professional standards, and departmental requirements
- Contribute to program development and administrative tasks (approximately 20% of role) to advance service offerings and operations
Qualifications
- Currently licensed in the State of California as an Occupational Therapist (required)
- Graduate of a school of Occupational Therapy approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (required)
- Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) preferred
- Demonstrated ability to supervise COTAs and Rehabilitation Technicians and lead clinical education
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, documentation standards, and quality assurance
- Comfortable balancing a primarily clinical role with administrative and program development responsibilities
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program approved by AOTA (required)

- Patient evaluation and treatment planning with strong clinical reasoning
- Clinical supervision and competency assessment for therapy staff
- Clear, compliant documentation and familiarity with regulatory requirements
- Program and policy development with an eye for practical implementation
- Effective communication, team leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to mentor, teach, and build clinical skills across the team
