Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients during overnight shifts
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Assess and monitor patient status, reporting changes to the interdisciplinary team
- Document care clearly and timely in the patient record
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists and support staff to coordinate care
- Respond effectively to urgent situations and participate in patient transfers
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications and discharge instructions
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license (New Mexico or compact/eligible) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS or PALS preferred if applicable to unit
- Current immunizations and ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Prior acute care or long-term care nursing experience preferred
- Comfort working independently overnight and collaborating with night-shift teams
- Travel nursing experience and valid RN license across state lines are a plus
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for overnight patient care
- Medication administration, IV care and basic wound management
- Effective communication with patients, families and clinical teams
- Accurate and timely electronic charting and documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients safely
