Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patient condition, recognizing changes and escalating concerns promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
- Provide skilled nursing care including wound care and routine procedures with attention to detail
- Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and implement patient-centered care plans
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Advocate for patient safety and quality outcomes during every shift
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New Mexico (Travel LPN opportunities available for T-LPN classification)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Prior nursing experience in acute care, long-term care, or related settings preferred
- Comfortable working night shift hours and managing a full patient assignment
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork mindset
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN for RNs; Practical Nursing diploma for LPNs)
- BSN preferred for RN candidates but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and clinical monitoring
- Medication administration and safe documentation
- Infection control and wound care principles
- Familiarity with electronic health records and charting best practices
- Time management and prioritization during busy night shifts
- Clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
