Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve function, independence and quality of life
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Document progress and outcomes clearly and timely in the facility electronic medical record
• Educate patients, families and caregivers on therapeutic strategies and safe home programs
• Participate in team meetings, case reviews and discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions

Qualifications

• Current and active Occupational Therapy license in the state of Maine (or compact/reciprocal authorization where applicable)
• NBCOT certification preferred or in progress
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or willing to obtain prior to start
• Clinical experience in inpatient rehabilitation, acute rehab or related settings preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with patients and staff

Education

• Entry-level Master's in Occupational Therapy (MOT) or Doctorate (OTD) preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be acceptable when paired with accredited OT credentialing

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in standardized OT assessments and functional outcome measures
• Ability to create goal-oriented treatment plans and modify interventions based on progress
• Good clinical reasoning, documentation and time-management skills
• Comfortable working within an interdisciplinary rehab team
• Familiarity with common assistive devices, ADL training and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Proficient with electronic medical records and routine documentation practices
