Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve function, independence and quality of life
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document progress and outcomes clearly and timely in the facility electronic medical record
- Educate patients, families and caregivers on therapeutic strategies and safe home programs
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews and discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions
Qualifications
- Current and active Occupational Therapy license in the state of Maine (or compact/reciprocal authorization where applicable)
- NBCOT certification preferred or in progress
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or willing to obtain prior to start
- Clinical experience in inpatient rehabilitation, acute rehab or related settings preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with patients and staff
Education
- Entry-level Master's in Occupational Therapy (MOT) or Doctorate (OTD) preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be acceptable when paired with accredited OT credentialing
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in standardized OT assessments and functional outcome measures
- Ability to create goal-oriented treatment plans and modify interventions based on progress
- Good clinical reasoning, documentation and time-management skills
- Comfortable working within an interdisciplinary rehab team
- Familiarity with common assistive devices, ADL training and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Proficient with electronic medical records and routine documentation practices
