Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess patients’ communication and swallowing function using evidence-based tools
• Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable goals to improve patient outcomes
• Provide skilled therapy for speech, language, cognition, and dysphagia with clear progress notes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and support discharge planning
• Train and educate patients, families, and caregivers on home strategies to maximize progress
• Document treatment sessions and outcomes in the facility electronic health record in a timely manner
• Participate in team meetings and contribute clinical expertise to improve program quality

Qualifications

• Valid California Speech-Language Pathology license required
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or in progress
• Experience working with adult rehab or post-acute populations preferred
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain as required by facility
• Ability to start within a short window to meet urgent needs; reliable and professional travel-ready mindset

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong dysphagia assessment and management skills
• Skilled in evidence-based treatment for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
• Comfortable with clinical documentation and outcome measurement
• Excellent communication and education skills for patients and families
• Ability to collaborate within interdisciplinary rehab teams
• Familiarity with common therapy tools and EHR systems
