Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality overnight inpatient medical care as the nocturnist for Parkview Medical Center
- Collaborate closely with APPs who cover patients at both locations to ensure seamless, safe patient handoffs
- Document thoroughly and efficiently using the EPIC EMR system to support continuity of care
- Mentor and support colleagues and APPs — help build a culture of learning and clinical excellence
- Work within a closed ICU model and coordinate care with Pulm/CC and other specialty teams when needed
- Participate in quality improvement, clinical leadership discussions, and initiatives that shape the future of care
Qualifications
- Board-eligible or board-certified Nocturnist (as stated in the job posting)
- Licensed (or able to obtain licensure) to practice medicine in Colorado — must be eligible for permanent placement
- Authorization to work in the U.S.; this role is NOT open to visa candidates
- Willingness to work a full-time nocturnist schedule (six-on / nine-off) and cover 12-hour night shifts
- Experience working in hospital medicine and comfort collaborating with APPs and multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR (system-wide use at UCHealth Parkview)
Education
- MD or DO (Physician degree) with completion of an accredited residency program; board-eligible or board-certified as noted
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong inpatient/hospital medicine clinical skills and overnight decision-making
- Experience with night coverage workflows and working independently overnight
- Proficiency using EPIC EMR for patient management and documentation
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills, including working with APPs
- Mentoring and leadership aptitude to foster success in a physician-led group
