Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: PRN day shifts; flexible half-day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) blocks. Typical examples include 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (half-day) or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (full day). Days and frequency vary by site (examples: 1 day/week to 2 days/week depending on location such as Tuba City/Chinle, Nogales, Safford, Payson). Day shift (no nights).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments with professionalism and care
- Conduct thorough interview-based evaluations and complete focused physical assessments (range of motion, muscle strength testing)
- Complete timely, clear medical reports, addendums, and medical opinions following VES guidance
- Read and interpret diagnostic information as part of non-treatment evaluations
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with non-treatment exam protocols
- Coordinate with VES for scheduling, credentialing, and case follow-up to ensure high-quality Veteran care
Qualifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state(s) where you will practice
- Clinical background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine is welcome
- Experience or familiarity with Compensation & Pension exams, Separation Health Assessments, or non-treatment evaluations is strongly preferred
- Ability to perform focused physical exam maneuvers such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Comfortable with report writing, addendums, and preparing medical opinions
- Willingness to work within a 50-mile radius of the listed city or to provide services from your own office when required
- Portal training and DMA certification are nice-to-have (preferred, not always required)
Education
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with NP certification; active NP license required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in interview-based clinical evaluations and documenting objective findings
- Proficient at range of motion and muscle strength assessment techniques
- Strong medical report writing skills, including addendums and medical opinions
- Familiarity reading diagnostics and integrating findings into non-treatment reports
- Attention to detail, timely documentation, and excellent communication with coordination teams
- Comfort with electronic portals and quick onboarding processes
