Neonatal Nurse Practitioner - NICU
Location: Fort Myers, Florida
Contract Type: Perm
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts with in-house call and 24-hour NNP coverage; option for occasional 24-hour shifts based on experience. Full-time permanent role (156 hours/month), requires residency within the immediate local area.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide attending-level coverage and expert clinical care in a 70-bed Level-III NICU — manage complex neonatal patients with confidence
- Cover high-risk deliveries and collaborate with subspecialty teams to ensure seamless perinatal care
- Deliver Level-I well-baby care and provide backup coverage as needed from home
- Participate in in-house call rotation and support 24-hour NNP coverage when on duty
- Contribute to a developmentally sensitive, family-centered unit through compassionate communication and bedside teaching
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research opportunities to enhance patient outcomes
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of neonatologists and fellow NNPs to promote team-based, evidence-driven care
Qualifications
- NNP Board Certification required (cannot accept FNP, PNP, or other NP certifications)
- Minimum 2+ years' experience as an NNP (advertised as required in the role)
- Willingness and ability to work 12-hour shifts with in-house call; openness to occasional 24-hour shifts based on experience
- Experience in Level-III NICU/neonatology and high-risk delivery coverage
- Comfort working in a team-based, family-centered environment and participating in QI and research
- Open to J-1 and H-1B visa candidates (visa sponsorship information noted in the job posting)
- Not accepting locums candidates
Education
- NNP Board Certification (required)
- Graduate-level Nurse Practitioner education expected (NNP-trained)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong neonatal clinical skills and familiarity with Level-III NICU care
- Experience with high-risk delivery coverage and stabilization of critically ill neonates
- Ability to provide well-baby and Level-I coverage when required
- Comfort with in-house call systems and 24-hour coverage models
- Team-oriented communication, collaboration with subspecialists, and family-centered bedside manner
- Interest or experience in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives
