Shift Type: Full-time, 20 hours per day clinical coverage (specific start/end times and days vary; schedule to be discussed with hiring team) - coverage includes Level III NICU and newborn nursery with in-house neonatologist daytime support and NNP coverage across extended hours

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality neonatal care in a 16-suite Level III NICU, delivering evidence-based treatments and bedside management
- Cover the newborn nursery as part of the clinical team, ensuring seamless transitions from birth to neonatal care
- Collaborate closely with neonatologists and multidisciplinary staff to coordinate patient care and escalate when needed
- Perform comprehensive assessments, order and interpret tests, and manage acute and complex neonatal conditions
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with families — educate, update, and involve them in the care plan
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record, contributing to quality and safety initiatives
- Participate in unit-based performance improvement, education, and clinical protocol development
Qualifications
- NNP Board Certification (required) — must be neonatal-specific (NNP); FNP/PNP or other NP certifications not accepted
- Minimum 2+ years of employment experience as an NNP (RN experience does not count toward this requirement)
- Experience in Level III NICU care and newborn nursery coverage preferred
- Not accepting new graduate candidates
- Not accepting Locums candidates
Education
- NNP Board Certification (required)
- Completion of an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program (typical pathway)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong neonatal assessment and critical-care skills for Level III NICU patients
- Familiarity with newborn nursery workflows and transitional care
- Ability to collaborate effectively with neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and families
- Proven clinical decision-making, acute stabilization, and procedural competency in neonatology
- Clear documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
- Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and family-centered care
