Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate perioperative nursing care in Pre-op and PACU for a high volume of surgical cases
• Perform thorough pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for surgery
• Continuously monitor patients post-anesthesia using Phillips monitoring systems and intervene as needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthetists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient transitions
• Coordinate patient transfers to the ICU when clinically indicated and communicate critical information clearly
• Document care accurately and timely in Meditech to support continuity of care
• Float between Pre-op and PACU as needed and respond promptly to on-call events
• Maintain patient ratios and prioritize safe, efficient care in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Colorado or compact where applicable)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Prior PACU or perioperative nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable working with Meditech EMR and Phillips monitors (preferred)
• Ability to float between units and take required on-call shifts
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing and PACU best practices
• Pre-op assessment and post-anesthesia recovery management
• Patient monitoring with Phillips monitors and interpreting vital trends
• Documentation workflows in Meditech EMR
• Stabilization and safe transfer of ICU-bound patients
• Managing 2:1 patient ratios in a high-volume surgical setting
• Adaptability to staggered schedules and on-call responsibilities
