Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients
• Support and assist with cesarean sections as scrub or circulate per unit needs
• Float to Mother/Baby (postpartum/newborn) as needed and provide newborn care
• Perform fetal monitoring, interpret telemetry/EFM strips and act on emergent changes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (OB physicians, IV teams, respiratory, pharmacy, social work) for coordinated care
• Precept and mentor staff when assigned, helping new clinicians acclimate to unit pace and standards
• Prepare and set up delivery tables and support non-stress testing and newborn resuscitation when needed
• Document accurately and timely in Epic to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant Labor & Delivery experience (first-timers may be considered)
• Active RN licensure (pending licenses are not accepted)
• ACLS required
• AWHONN Advanced required (Hardstop) — C-EFM may be accepted in lieu of Advanced AWHONN
• BLS/BCLS required
• NRP required
• Experience with scrub and circulate roles for C-sections (preferred)
• Comfort floating to Mother/Baby units and providing newborn care
• Preceptor experience preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor and Delivery management and low-to-high risk obstetric care
• Neonatal care fundamentals and newborn evaluation
• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Epic charting proficiency (facility has Epic hardstop)
• Ability to perform non-stress tests and set up delivery tables
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and emergency response skills in OB settings
• Baby-Friendly practices experience is a plus
