Education

  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients Antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum (couplet care), triage, circulate c-sections.
  • Experience or 'Must have' skills "Must Have: 1yr specialty within the last 3 years
  • Prefer: Doesn’t need to be able to transition. Preferred, but not a requirement
  • 1yr of travel experience is highly preferred"
  • Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
  • Common titratable &/or set rate drips Oxytocin
  • Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes
  • Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? 1 OB Surgical tech on unit per shift
  • OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7? No
  • Anesthesia in house 24/7? No
  • RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, etc) none
  • Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? No techs, RN's are required to read fetal strips
  • EFM System Obix
  • Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) Yes
  • Weekend Requirements Available for 5 shifts in a 6 week period
  • Holiday Requirements As needed
  • Is there a call or standby requirement? If there is low census, they may want them to float to Med Surg. Usually help do aid work
  • Floating Requirements? If there is low census, they may want them to float to Med Surg. Usually help do aid work
  • Scrub Color/Dress code Hospital Scrubs provided
