Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Unit (CVU)
Location: Omaha, NE
Start Date: 07-06-2026
End Date: 10-05-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM (days) and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (nights), every other weekend
Hours per Week: 48
Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide intermediate care and step-down monitoring for cardiac patients
- Titrate and manage critical drips including Amio, Nitro, Nicardipine, Epi, and Cardizem
- Interpret telemetry strips and respond to rhythm changes
- Support the thoracic program, EP lab, cath lab, and structural heart patients
- Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists for 24/7 patient care
- Float to units of same or lower acuity as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiovascular or intermediate care nursing
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Driver's license required at submittal
- Ability to pass a pass/fail open-book exam during orientation (90% required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in titrating vasoactive drips and managing blood pressure
- Skilled in telemetry interpretation and rhythm recognition
- Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula respiratory support
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptable to floating and working with various patient populations
