Location: Bakersfield, CA

Start Date: 06-19-2026

End Date: 09-18-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional physical therapy to acute inpatients with diverse diagnoses including post-surgical, neurological, and general medical conditions
Cover multiple units: Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER to ensure seamless patient care
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Document patient progress and adjust interventions to maximize functional outcomes
Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises and home safety
Participate in department orientation and ongoing learning

Qualifications

Current California PT license required
BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Acute inpatient physical therapy experience is essential
Ability to handle a caseload of 12+ patients daily with varied acuity

Education

Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in treating orthopedic, neurologic, and deconditioned patients
Strong clinical reasoning and time management skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR)
