Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist with patient preparation and instrument setup
- Take and develop dental radiographs as directed
- Maintain a clean and sterile treatment environment
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post‑procedure care
- Document treatment notes accurately in the electronic health record
- Manage inventory of supplies and ensure proper stocking
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Dental Assistant certification (CDAS or equivalent)
- Valid Maryland dental assistant license
- Prior experience in orthodontic settings preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced clinical environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and appliances
- Proficiency with dental imaging equipment
- Understanding of infection control protocols
- Basic computer skills for charting and scheduling
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record‑keeping
