Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist with patient preparation and instrument setup
• Take and develop dental radiographs as directed
• Maintain a clean and sterile treatment environment
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post‑procedure care
• Document treatment notes accurately in the electronic health record
• Manage inventory of supplies and ensure proper stocking

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Dental Assistant certification (CDAS or equivalent)
• Valid Maryland dental assistant license
• Prior experience in orthodontic settings preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced clinical environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and appliances
• Proficiency with dental imaging equipment
• Understanding of infection control protocols
• Basic computer skills for charting and scheduling
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record‑keeping
