Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist with patient preparation and instrument setup
• Maintain a clean and organized treatment area throughout the day
• Document patient records accurately and update charts in real time
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post‑treatment care instructions
• Manage inventory of supplies and ensure timely restocking

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; dental assisting program preferred
• Current Maryland Dental Assistant certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly bedside manner
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced orthodontic environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and terminology
• Proficiency with dental software and electronic health records
• Strong infection control and sterilization practices
• Effective communication with patients, parents, and clinical staff
