Roles & Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients, ensuring a smooth start to their visit and notifying the appropriate provider.
• Prepare examination rooms and equipment, maintaining a clean and organized environment for procedures and exams.
• Take and record vital signs, informing providers of patient status and any concerns.
• Prioritize emergency patients and assist with examinations and treatments as needed.
• Handle patient situations over the phone, schedule appointments, and coordinate care with medical professionals.
• Register new patients, establish medical records, and assist with insurance forms and billing.
• Instruct patients in preparation for specific procedures and collect/process routine laboratory specimens.
• Operate and maintain clinical equipment, using aseptic technique for sterilization and infection control.
• Keep supplies stocked, clean instruments, and support the care team with additional duties as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program (required)
• Certification as a CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), or CCMA with a 12-month Dartmouth-Hitchcock apprenticeship (required)
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Previous experience in an office or outpatient ambulatory care setting (strongly preferred)

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
