Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide preventive dental care and oral hygiene education to patients
• Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing procedures
• Document patient records accurately in electronic health systems
• Collaborate with dentists and staff to ensure high‑quality patient outcomes
• Maintain strict infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current Virginia Dental Hygiene license (or eligibility to obtain)
• High school diploma or GED (additional dental hygiene education required)
• Strong communication and patient‑education skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards

Knowledge & Skills

• Oral health assessment techniques
• Prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance procedures
• Patient education and counseling
• Infection control and sterilization protocols
• Electronic dental record (EDR) documentation
