Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide preventive dental care and oral hygiene services to patients
• Conduct thorough oral health assessments and document findings
• Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and oral health maintenance
• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and equipment according to infection‑control standards
• Collaborate with dentists and staff to develop individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania Dental Hygienist license (or eligibility to obtain)
• High school diploma or GED; additional dental hygiene education preferred
• Strong communication and patient‑education skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and commitment to infection‑control protocols

Knowledge & Skills

• Oral prophylaxis techniques and instrumentation
• Patient education and motivational interviewing
• Dental software documentation and charting
• Infection control and OSHA compliance
• Radiography basics (if applicable)
