Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide preventive dental care and oral hygiene services to patients
- Conduct thorough oral health assessments and document findings
- Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and oral health maintenance
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and equipment according to infection‑control standards
- Collaborate with dentists and staff to develop individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Current Pennsylvania Dental Hygienist license (or eligibility to obtain)
- High school diploma or GED; additional dental hygiene education preferred
- Strong communication and patient‑education skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and commitment to infection‑control protocols
Knowledge & Skills
- Oral prophylaxis techniques and instrumentation
- Patient education and motivational interviewing
- Dental software documentation and charting
- Infection control and OSHA compliance
- Radiography basics (if applicable)
