Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients: STEMI, NSTEMI, CAD, PAD, PVD, CHF, Heart blocks, Cancer... Cases we do: Cardiac, peripheral vascular, Interventional Radiology, Pacemaker insertions
• Job Duties: RT are responsible for controlling the C-arm during cases, assisting MDs during procedures (scrubbing), and helping with patient preparation among other duties within their scope of practice.
• Experience or 'Must have' skills: 1+ year with Cardiac cases. IR experience is preferred.
• EMR/Equipment: Merge and Cerner is used as EMR and hemodynamic monitoring. Our X-ray machines are Philip.
• Cardiologist hours/on call: 24/7 coverage. Call hours are usually M-F from 17:30 until 7:00, Sat and Sun 24hs
• Manager/Charge Nurse: Manager, director and charge RN available normally from 6:30 am until 17:00
• Shifts & Scheduling: 4 x 10 hours.
• Weeknight/Call Requirement: usually 1 night call shift per week
• Weekend/Call Requirement:usually 1 weekend call per 4 week period
• Holiday/Call Requirement: holiday call distributed equally among all the staff.
• Is there a mandatory call/standby requirement? usually 1 night call shift per week and usually 1 weekend call per 4 week period
• What is call response time? 30 minutes
• Floating Requirements: no floating requirements
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: OR scrub provided by hospital
• Unit/Department specific orientation: 1-2 days of general orientation, + 2 days of unit specific orientation.
