Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising occupational therapist in delivering person-centered treatment plans
• Implement therapeutic activities and interventions to improve patients' daily living skills
• Monitor and document patient progress clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Provide education and training to patients and families to support carry-over at home
• Adapt equipment, splints, and activity modifications to promote independence and safety
• Maintain a safe, organized treatment area and ensure proper equipment care

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential in good standing
• Current California license/registration or eligibility to obtain one
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification (current)
• Comfortable with documentation and electronic medical records
• Professional, compassionate communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to travel and complete a 13-week contract assignment
• Pass background checks and meet employer onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
• Completion of state-required certification/licensure coursework

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with Occupational Therapy interventions across the lifespan
• Skilled in activity analysis, adaptive techniques, and assistive device recommendations
• Strong clinical observation, assessment, and documentation skills
• Ability to prioritize caseload and manage time in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent patient and family education skills with a positive bedside manner
