Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Document care accurately and thoroughly in the patient record
- Support mealtime, toileting, and safe transfers with attention to comfort and safety
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a calm, safe environment for geriatric patients
- Participate in team huddles and help implement individualized care plans
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — the title says it, we love it
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
- Comfortable working night shift hours and thriving in a fast-paced care setting
- Experience with geriatric populations or long-term care is a strong plus
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Compassionate, patient-centered attitude and strong teamwork skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification or completion of an approved caregiver program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and assistance with ADLs
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Accurate documentation and charting practices
- Basic infection control and safety procedures
- Clear communication with residents, families, and care teams
- Observation skills for changes in condition and reporting concerns
