Location: Brooklyn Park, MD
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift; specific days assigned per schedule)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents, honoring dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding)
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe mobility and fall-prevention efforts, using proper body mechanics
- Document resident care accurately and timely in the facility’s charting system
- Communicate respectfully with residents’ families and the interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
- Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (state-required credential) — please have documentation ready
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain
- Background check, TB screening, and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
- Comfort working with older adults and experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Skillful in assisting with ADLs and mobility support
- Basic knowledge of infection prevention and safety procedures
- Ability to measure and interpret vital signs and recognize subtle changes
- Good documentation habits and basic charting competency
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills for resident-centered care
