Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to patients on the overnight shift
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
• Monitor and document patient conditions, vitals, and responses to interventions
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to update and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families with clarity and empathy about care needs and discharge planning
• Respond promptly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns to providers
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and deliver thorough handoffs at shift change

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license appropriate for practice in New Mexico (LPN role)
• Previous clinical experience in a rehab or acute care setting is a strong plus
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Comfort working overnight shifts and collaborating within a dynamic team
• Strong assessment, communication, and time-management skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program (LPN diploma/certificate).
• For candidates cross-credentialed as RNs: Associate or BSN in Nursing as applicable.

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring with keen attention to change in condition
• Safe medication administration and documentation practices
• Wound care, mobility assistance, and rehabilitation-supportive nursing
• Electronic charting/EMR documentation and accurate handoffs
• Infection control practices and patient safety focus
• Clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
