Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions with a focus on hand therapy to help patients regain function and independence
- Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and clinical findings
- Fabricate and fit splints and adaptive devices to support recovery and daily living activities
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC to support continuity and quality of care
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team — nurses, physicians, PTs and other allied staff — to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive strategies and injury prevention
Qualifications
- Active Occupational Therapy license (must be able to submit license)
- Hand therapy training or specialty experience — applicants should be hand therapists
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (as noted in the posting)
- Experience working in acute care settings preferred
- Charting experience with EPIC is highly desirable
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong hand therapy assessment and intervention skills, including splinting
- Familiarity with acute care workflows and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Proficient documentation skills, especially within EPIC
- Excellent patient education and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time across varying shift lengths
