Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures using equipment that produces ionizing radiation with accuracy and care
- Provide age-appropriate, compassionate patient care and communicate clearly with patients and families
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring image quality and safety standards are met
- Apply radiation protection principles and follow established radiographic exposure protocols
- Recognize and escalate patient care concerns and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure excellent outcomes
- Document procedures and maintain accurate patient and imaging records in compliance with policy
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology/Radiography program
- Radiologic Technologist registration with the State of Illinois (required)
- ARRT certification (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and safely assist patients as needed
- CT experience preferred but not required — we welcome technologists eager to expand skills
- Comfort working night shift schedule and participating in occasional on-call rotation
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology/Radiography program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of human structure and function to produce accurate diagnostic images
- Patient care skills with an emphasis on safety, dignity, and communication
- Proficient understanding of radiographic exposure techniques and image quality optimization
- Solid grasp of radiation protection principles and safe operation of imaging equipment
- Familiarity with specialized radiologic techniques and basic CT concepts (preferred)
