Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during the daytime shift
• Assess patient condition and report significant changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Document care thoroughly and clearly to support continuity and quality
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other clinicians to optimize outcomes
• Support patient and family education with empathy and clear communication
• Participate in unit-based safety and quality initiatives to improve care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas or compact multistate RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications preferred
• Current immunizations per facility policy (facility will confirm specific requirements)
• Previous acute care or relevant clinical experience preferred
• Comfortable with electronic charting systems; adaptability to facility processes
• Professional, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
• Time management and prioritization across a busy daytime caseload
• Basic familiarity with common hospital equipment and safety protocols
• Ability to learn new charting systems and facility workflows quickly
