Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to postpartum mothers and their newborns in a 32-bed Mother/Baby unit
• Perform routine newborn screenings, blood glucose monitoring, and jaundice monitoring with precision and care
• Support breastfeeding success through education, hands-on assistance, and collaboration with lactation consultants
• Deliver perineal and incision care to promote healing and patient comfort
• Partner with OB, pediatricians, and nursing teams to maintain a positive, collaborative environment
• Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech and CPN and support bedside shift reports and hourly rounding

Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of postpartum or mother/baby nursing experience
• Must demonstrate couplet care competencies
• Breastfeeding support experience required
• Preferred: Mother-Baby charge experience or late-preterm/transitional newborn experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong couplet care and mother-baby nursing skills
• Knowledge of newborn screening, blood glucose monitoring, and jaundice assessment
• Expertise in breastfeeding support and feeding education
• Proficient with Meditech and CPN electronic medical records
• Skilled in perineal and incision care
• Detail-focused, compassionate, and able to work well under pressure
• Collaborative team player committed to positive patient experiences
