Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care during labor, delivery, and recovery
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, adjusting care plans as needed
• Perform immediate newborn care and support golden hour bonding
• Circulate during cesarean sections and assist in the operating room
• Deliver PACU care to postpartum patients and ensure smooth transitions
• Document accurately in Meditech/CPN and communicate clearly during bedside shift reports

Qualifications

• Active TX RN License (temporary licenses not accepted)
• BLS, NRP, and AWHONN certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of hospital L&D experience
• Experience with labor and delivery, recovery, immediate newborn care, golden hour baby care, PACU, and circulating c-sections
• Ability to scrub c-sections preferred
• Meditech experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of L&D nursing, fetal monitoring, and patient ratios of 1:1 or 2:1
• Comfortable working independently in a unit without a secretary or tech
• Excellent communication skills for patient experience (AIDET) and bedside shift report
• Skilled in Meditech/CPN documentation
• Knowledge of facility dress code and grooming policies
