Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient care for critically ill patients in our ICU/Stepdown unit.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, interpreting telemetry and vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring safety and efficacy.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans.
• Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient status and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license (temporary licenses not accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience and 2 years of ICU/Stepdown specialty experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with Meditech documentation system (preferred)
• Telemetry, PCU, or Stepdown experience (preferred)
• Ability to float as needed within the hospital

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ICU and Stepdown nursing practices, including telemetry monitoring
• Proficiency in Meditech electronic health records
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle emergencies calmly
