Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality acute care to a 30‑bed unit, balancing 6:1 and 4:1 patient ratios
• Perform critical procedures such as lumbar punctures and chest tube placements
• Monitor vital signs, manage high‑flow oxygen, BiPAP, and titrate cardiac drips
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech
• Collaborate with charge RN, techs, and unit secretaries to ensure seamless workflow
• Participate in bedside shift reports, daily huddles, and ICARE recognition activities

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Tennessee
• BLS certification for Acute Care
• ACLS certification for Neuro Stepdown
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, preferably with step‑down exposure
• Strong critical thinking, time management, and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Acute care nursing fundamentals
• Neuro stepdown patient management
• Lumbar puncture and chest tube placement techniques
• Ventilator support including BiPAP and high‑flow oxygen
• Meditech electronic health record documentation
• Effective communication and patient education
