Education

• Common Cases General, vascular, neuro, plastics, ortho, cardiothoracic
• Experience or 'Must have' skills cardiothoracic
• Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Manager and charge daily
• Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) 6:30-3 Monday-Friday, with call coverage on weekday evenings and weekends. The schedule is a 4 week schedule.
• Weeknight/Call Requirements Yes, 1-2 weeknights of call and every 3-4 weekends for heart call
• Weekend/Call Requirements 3-4 weekend heart call
• Holiday/Call Requirements The department is closed on holidays, but a call team is available.
• What is call response time? 30 minutes
• Floating Requirements
• Scrub Color/Dress Code Scrubs are provided.
• How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? 3-4, depending on the service line.
