Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare surgical rooms and patients for procedures, ensuring a sterile and organized environment
Clean and inspect surgery rooms before and after procedures to maintain safety standards
Obtain and set up supplies and equipment needed for each surgical procedure
Assist surgeons during procedures by providing the correct instruments at the right time
Perform technical duties to support the surgical team and promote positive patient outcomes

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent plus completion of a nationally accredited Surgical Technologist program
Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from a nationally accredited organization
Or equivalent military training in surgical technology
Or at least one year of experience as a Surgical Technologist prior to January 1, 2015
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in surgical technology
Active New York State license or compact license (must be currently active)

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control
Familiarity with a wide range of surgical instruments and equipment
Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Ability to work calmly and efficiently in high-pressure situations
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
