Location: Chicago, IL

Start Date: 02-23-2026

End Date: 05-24-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Days, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM, rotating weekends and holidays, on-call rotation: one night every 2 weeks, one weekend every 6 weeks

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $28 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Scrub in for a variety of surgical procedures including open-heart and orthopedic surgeries
Prepare and maintain sterile field and surgical instruments
Assist surgical team by anticipating needs and passing instruments
Ensure patient safety and adhere to infection control protocols
Participate in on-call rotation and handle emergent cases

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in a busy department
Proficiency in EPIC charting system
BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Ability to take call and work rotating weekends and holidays

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in sterile technique and surgical instrument handling
Knowledge of open-heart, orthopedic, and general surgery procedures
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility to adapt to changing case loads and schedules
