Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders in residents recovering from hip and knee replacements, CVAs, cardiac events, and post‑acute deconditioning.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized therapy plans that promote functional communication and independence.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations, set measurable goals, and document progress in accordance with facility standards.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on communication strategies and adaptive techniques.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and care quality.

Qualifications

• Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Tennessee.
• Experience working with post‑acute and long‑term care populations is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
