Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders for residents in a skilled‑nursing setting
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans that align with each resident’s goals and medical status
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and outcomes accurately in the facility’s electronic health record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members—including nurses, PT/OT, and physicians—to coordinate comprehensive care
• Educate residents, families, and staff on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques

Qualifications

• Current NH Speech‑Language Pathology license or eligibility for licensure
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology (Master’s preferred)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dysphagia screening and management protocols
• Familiarity with geriatric communication disorders and rehabilitation techniques
• Proficiency with electronic medical record documentation
• Strong assessment and treatment planning abilities
• Ability to adapt therapy techniques to diverse cognitive and physical abilities
