Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for post‑hospital and long‑term care residents
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans targeting communication, swallowing, and cognitive goals
• Provide daily therapy sessions and document progress in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with nursing, occupational therapy, and activities staff to integrate speech goals into overall care
• Educate residents, families, and staff on strategies to support communication and safe swallowing
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to discharge planning
• Utilize environmental assessments to recommend home safety modifications

Qualifications

• Current Maine Speech‑Language Pathology license or compact license
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP)
• Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology
• Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings preferred
• Strong interpersonal and documentation skills
