Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including vital signs, physical exams, and medical history reviews for students
• Administer medications, injections, and treatments following physician orders and safety protocols
• Manage emergency situations such as acute pain episodes, allergic reactions, and airway issues with prompt care
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in EHR systems with strict HIPAA compliance
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and providers to develop individualized health plans for students with special needs
• Provide first aid and basic life support during school hours and coordinate care as needed
• Promote wellness through health education on nutrition, hygiene, and injury prevention

Qualifications

• Valid LVN license in the state of practice with current certification
• Minimum 1 year of LVN experience
• Experience with children in school or pediatric settings is preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and nursing procedures
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable
• CPR and First Aid certification with confidence in emergency response
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with staff, families, and healthcare teams
• Prior special education experience is a plus
