Roles & Responsibilities

• Serve as Charge Nurse in a fast-paced ICU float pool across multiple Denver-area hospitals
• Lead and coordinate patient care assignments, ensuring appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios
• Titrate critical drips including pressors, sedation, and antiarrhythmics
• Respond to codes and rapid responses throughout the facility
• Float to other acuity levels (PCU, Stepdown, MS-Tele) as needed
• Interpret telemetry strips and manage respiratory needs in collaboration with RT
• Mentor and support nursing staff, adapting to changing unit demands

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience is a must
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Comfortable titrating all critical drips independently
• Epic proficiency preferred, especially for first-time travelers
• Ability to float within a 60-mile zone and adapt to different facilities

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ICU nursing including MICU, SICU, TICU, and CVICU populations
• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Proficient in respiratory management with vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities for charge nurse role
• Flexible and resilient in a dynamic, multi-site environment
