Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients Medical , neurosurgery, cardiac, post cath-TR bands
• Experience or 'Must have' skills titrate drips, bi pap
• Are RNs required to titrate drips? yes
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips cardene, cardizem
• Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? yes
• Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? yes
• RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? CPAP, Bi PAP, hi flow, troubleshoot
• Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? Same as ICU
• Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) As needed by unit
• Weekend Requirements 4 in 6 weeks
• Holiday Requirements 1 major 1 minor
• Is there call or a standby requirement? no
• Floating Requirements as needed
• Scrub Color/Dress code Navy
• How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? 1 or 2
