Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pregnant women, newborns, and gynecological surgery patients in a rural LDRP setting
• Triage patients and manage labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care
• Function as the primary baby catcher/transition nurse for deliveries
• Administer and titrate Pitocin drips as needed
• Collaborate with charge nurse and on-call providers (OB, anesthesia, pediatrics) to ensure patient safety
• Maintain accurate electronic fetal monitoring using OBIX system
• Float to med-surg rarely as needed to support hospital operations

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of recent L&D experience required
• Must be trained in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
• Ability to triage and function independently as baby catcher/transition nurse
• Active RN license in Colorado or compact state
• BLS, NRP, and AWHONN EFM certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Must live outside a 60-mile radius from Fort Morgan

Education

• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in L&D nursing including LDRP, triage, and newborn transition
• Proficient in electronic fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Strong critical thinking and ability to work in a fast-paced rural setting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Comfortable with titrating Pitocin and managing low-risk deliveries
• Ability to adapt quickly to unit needs and take charge nurse assignment
