Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across multiple ERs within Zone 4
• Float between Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, St. Catherine-Dodge City, and St. Catherine-Garden City as needed
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patients using critical thinking skills
• Administer medications, start IVs, and manage common ER drips
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-levels, and techs to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
• Adapt quickly to varying patient volumes, ranging from 6 to 49 patients per day per location

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Kansas or compact state (NLC)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ER experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Ability to float within a 60-mile radius zone
• Willingness to work every other weekend and holiday
• Comfortable with 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratios based on acuity

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Proficiency in reading telemetry strips and interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Experience with point-of-care lab testing and standard ER medications
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
