Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages and acuity levels.
• Triage patients efficiently, prioritize care, and act quickly in critical situations.
• Administer medications, start IVs, monitor vital signs, and perform emergency procedures with confidence.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to create and adjust individualized treatment plans.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record.
• Float to the Medical/Surgical unit as needed, bringing your adaptability and skill wherever the need is greatest.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license (Iowa license or compact state eligibility)
• BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Willingness to float to Med Surg as needed
• Previous emergency department nursing experience strongly preferred
• Ability to meet health screening requirements, including immunizations, fit testing, and physical clearance

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making in high-pressure environments
• Expertise in emergency triage, cardiac monitoring, and trauma stabilization
• Proficiency in IV insertion, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
• Adaptability to move between ED and Med Surg settings seamlessly
• Comfort with electronic health records and hospital-based systems
• A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
