Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients Abd Pain, CP, Fever, Cough, Dyspnea, Headache, Injury, Extremity Pain
• Experience or 'Must have' skills
• Common drips? Cardiac, Antihypertensive, Antiarrhythmic, Sedation and Analgesia
• ED Physician/Mid-Levels
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes
• Nurse aids/EMT/Paramedics/Patient Sitters? Ratios? Duties? Shift Dependant
• Is RT in the ER 24/7? Do they do ABG's, breathing Tx, & EKG's? Yes
• RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? Vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, High Flow
• Do you have Monitor Techs in the ER? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the Tele monitors?
• X-Ray or CT in the ER? Transport? Shift Dependant
• Does Phlebotomy draw labs or RN's draw? Both
• Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) Self sceduling and Block
• Weekend Requirements Yes - Full and part-time employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule, aligning with department needs, unit staffing plans, and ensuring equitable distribution among all staff
