Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 0630-1900 or 1830-0700; every other weekend; no block scheduling

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide intermediate care for patients with cardiac and vascular diagnoses, including post-surgical and downgraded CVICU patients
Titrate and manage critical drips such as amiodarone, nitroglycerin, nicardipine, epinephrine, and cardizem
Monitor telemetry strips and interpret cardiac rhythms
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, intensivists, and cardiologists
Float to units of same or lower acuity as needed
Support thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart patients

Qualifications

Active and unrestricted RN license
At least 1 year of experience with this patient population
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Driver's license required at submittal
Must pass an open-book exam with 90% during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in cardiac nursing and telemetry monitoring
Proficient in drip titration for blood pressure and cardiac medications
Ability to interpret telemetry strips independently
Comfortable with BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula respiratory equipment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
