Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals with behavioral health needs
Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic and adverse effects
Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and nurses to develop individualized treatment plans
Conduct thorough assessments and document patient progress accurately
Educate patients and families on mental health management and coping strategies
Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa (compact license accepted)
BLS certification (AHA required)
NIHSS certification (must be current)
Minimum 1 year of behavioral health nursing experience preferred
Ability to float to other units as needed

Knowledge & Skills

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to de-escalate challenging situations with empathy
Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR)
Team-oriented with a commitment to patient safety
